Today I had the privilege of getting to read Shelly Fryer's blog about "Building Relationships with Students #GSPD". I learned about something called Global School Play Day or GSPD. GSPD is a day where students get to play in an unstructured setting. This allows creativity and imagination to flow through the whole school. Another benefit of this day is that it helps form bonds between students and teachers that might not have been there before. Many of these students come from a stressful background with uncertain home-lives. Skills are gained throughout this day too that will help these students in the future. The bonds that the students form here help create a better classroom climate. Also featured in her blogs are many other insights to ideas she utilizes in her classroom.
